Product details
This interface enables users of the XCS eiConsole to quickly and correctly connect to GDML to place HL7 ORU_R01 orders and receive real-time acknowledgments (ACK messages) for those orders. It also allows users to make use of GDML's Self-Service Automation Testing Portal, a web-based application that performs automates the process of getting setup with and establishing business connectivity to GammaDynacare.
GammaDynacare, the market leader in lab testing services, is committed to streamlining the process of sending, and receiving laboratory testing information. This interface offers all of the documentation, samples, and testing tools you need to seamlessly integrate your internal systems with GDML for lab testing.
Integration with service providers is often a painful process, extended over months. Experience has shown that the most timestaking component of these projects is the communication of data format and connectivity requirements and the subsequent back-and-forth involved with the iterative testing of the interface.
Why automate your testing process?
Automating the process of laboratory testing workflow is a critical step in the evolution towards straight-through processing of new business applications. Business-to-business integration of this process:
- Eliminates the manual re-keying of application information into order forms
- Eliminates the need for third-parties or users to log in to external systems for results or status updates
- Enables automatic imaging of results
- Enables real-time status updates to be posted
- Reduces errors
What is self-service integration?
Self-Service Integration means that your IT staff does not need to wait for hours, days, or even weeks to get a response back to technical inquiries, or to receive feedback on the validity of a test file. All of the information you need to get started with your implementation is available from this web page. Once you have implemented, the majority of the integration testing is handled through our fully automated test harness. Payloads are validated against our processing rules in real-time, with results available immediately. The reduction in back-and-forth communication on the front end of the implementation process can slash timelines and expense by 80% or more.
What parts of the process does GDML allow me to automate?
GDML provides business-to-busness transactions for the full lifecycle of our services. These include:
- Ordering of any supported laboratory tests
- Confirmation of receipt of orders
- Ongoing, real-time status notifications
- Delivery of results
This download includes a set of "paint-by-numbers" transaction templates that facilitate the adaptation of your various internal systems to the various HL7 messages accepted by GDML, including:
- HL7 ORU_R01 Requests
- HL7 ACK Acknowledgments
What are the steps I need to take to implement?
- Review the interface documentation, available on the right-hand side of this screen.
- If desired, download the PilotFish XCS eiConsole
- If you are using the XCS eiConsole, click the "Download" button above to obtain the transaction templates
- Configure your interface to GDML, using the documentation and/or transaction templates
- Pre-certify your data format and connectivity by sending transactions to the automated test facility
- Contact GDML to configure your test and production accounts
- Redirect your transactions to the GDML production URL
- Perform final integration testing in conjunction with GDML
- Go Live
